What began as a visit by John and Mary Lou Reim to Joe and Lil Larkin turned into a wonderful and fun-filled Mini-Reunion! Apart from a lot of sight-seeing and good restaurants, seven 8th & I Marines from the 50's - 60's era got together in San Diego and attended a graduation for USMC Drill Instructors, a USMC recruit graduation, and visited the oldest living Medal of Honor recipient, John Finn, USN, who is a close friend of the Larkins.
